Meat dept
The meat case at Vons on Centinela/Washington is a joke. It's all fogged over so you can't see anything and no one comes to help.
User's recommendation: Don't go there.

Verified ReviewerResolved: Poor customer service, the bakery droid a total disaster, the one person there if there is one is ALWAYS VERY RUDE! It feels like a customer like myself is inconvenience her/him for asking a simple ??
Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology. Now they are opening more registers when there are more than 3 customers waiting.
First you train us customers to use the self checkout registers, now we are not allowed to use them if we are buying more than 15 items. I totally understand the reason but it is a horrible inconvenience for me to wait 45 minutes in line to use the regular registers.
You need to hire more cashiers and or have ONE person to handle the self checkout registers. Most people like myself shop once per week and I always have more than 15 items.
Ralphs always have one person 100% at the self checkout. I am very dissatisfied and disappointed with your new policy.
- Near my house
- Not enough cashiers and of course not customer service
Preferred solution: More cashiers or allow to use self checkout
User's recommendation: Shop at Trader Joe’s! Excellent customer service, and most importante you don’t have to wait 45 minutes!

Verified Buyer | El Cajon, CaliforniaLack of Customer Service
I went to store 2176 in Southern California and the workers lacked customer service. My cashier was Jeff, and he didn't greet me, he just rang up my items and didn't bother to mention the total cost, I had to look at his computer to see the amount. I used to love shopping at this location but it lost its spark.

Verified Reviewer | San Diego, CaliforniaDigital coupons / discriminatory
The reliance on digital coupons is out of control. Half the time, they don't work.
Customers ask for help, but some employees don't understand how the clipped coupon even shows up in the cart. They don't want old school where the consumer brings in a coupon, but the current system does not work. Even scanning the coupon is ridiculous-- today the app says out of stock when obviously, it's not the case as I'm looking right at it.
It is deceptive advertising and should be illegal. Surely, Vons can do better.
- Used to be the best grocery store
- Not enough cashiers to check out and huge problem with digital coupons
Preferred solution: Restore confidence by fixing the digital coupon problem, and yes it is a problem.
User's recommendation: let them know your dissatisfaction; check your receipt.

Verified Reviewer | Escondido, CaliforniaInexcusable bad attitude and lack of customer service
This is not a first time problem. I shop in Ca and alcohol is licked up; however getting someone to unlock it
takes forever.
I have waited as long as 15 minutes. Tonight after I pushed the bell, there was a supervisor and
a deli employee standing around chatting. They both saw me and dismissed me. There was also a cart boy/bagger emptying trash who saw me.
None of them acknowledged me. I had to walk over to the supervisor and ask him to send someone to unlock the alcohol. the customer i such an imposition.
Next I get to the check out and the cashier refuses to bag my groceries. She just looks at the bag and starts ringing the next customer..
There's also a price mistake when I bring it to her attention. "you have to get back inline". Obviously, she is too ignorant to understand. No customers, ultimately no job.
What I don't have to do is shop at Von's/Albertson's any more.
The other option is Walmart. The employees are far more pleasant and the prices are better.
So after 30 years. Good bye and good riddance to Von's.
i am done with the snotty employees who think they are doing me a favor. Other stores sell the same product and at lesser prices with a smile
Preferred solution: train your employees to be courteous and understand what customer service meanas
User's recommendation: don't shop at von's
Peruvian avocados called “hass” are terrible. Thick, hard skins & poor interior.
Do not import this Peruvian variety of Hass avocados. Continue with Mexican or USA avocados.
This other type of Peruvian avocado has a hard skin. The interior is always wasted because it is either not mature or is dark and over mature.
TERRIBLE. A waste of money.
User's recommendation: Do not buy the “Peruvian” Hass avocado! It’s terrible!
Customer Appreciation Day was an ASSAULT on customers.
Mt husband and I have been going to VONS for years. Today we went in to shop and we were greeted with a loud obnoxious voice over the intercom shouting so loud you couldn't hear anyone else.
Then, what was notable is the chaos in the store. We tried getting our shopping done but we're constantly assaulted by the voice coming from yhe bakery. They were doing a cake walk and trying to lure customers. But people just wanted to shop.
We went down the paper towels aisle. As we we were comparing prices and brands we kept hearing a banging behind the paper products and seeing the paper products moving and being shuffed. Then as I went to pick up some paper towels we noticed 4 boys 10-12 years old sitting behind the paper products . They were pushing the products.
My husband I ordered them out from behind there. They were mouthy and do you think we could find an employee anywhere to help??? NO. NOT ONE WAS AROUND.
WHERE WERE THE EMPLOYEES?? At the front of the store socializing. My husband and I went to ask for a manager to make them aware of what we encountered. To no avail the female manager had no reaction and instead walked off.
The other employees just stood ther watching her walk off. We then asked for a supervisor. FINALLY, another woman came out yo talk with us. We informed her of shat occurred and it was so hard over the shouting over the intercom and chaos.
After explaining everything to her she was appalled that these kids did that and she gave us the store managers name and took my number to gave him contact us. We then decided to take our business to STATER BROTHERS. When we went to Stater Brothers there were other customers complaint of the "War Zone", and chaos at VONS. My husband and I felt validated for leaving VONS.
If VONS thought the CUSTOMER APPRECIATION DAY WAS clever. They need to fire who ever thought of this and instead of trying to be clever appreciate your customers by being even more helpful, thank ingredients them for shopping at the store provide 10%-20% discount or bump the rewards points to add up to something customers can use. Look people are stressed and even more so when they are struggling to buy groceries and trying to figure out what they can afford that day. Others just want to go into a peaceful, clean store to get what they need and move on.
The chaos and distraction we all experienced also gave a huge opportunity to those who go in and steal food and other things.
Vons probably lost more in revenue with this stupid stunt by customers walking out to get away from the chaos. I hope VONS corporate managers do read this otherwise your competitors will be going new customers.
User's recommendation: To future customers please consider going Stater Brothers or another store.

Verified Reviewer | Yucaipa, CaliforniaCouldn’t reach anyone to complain
This happens every time I go into the store in Yucaipa. The deli just has the ends of their salads and when I asked for a pound of one salad and a pound of another, all they did was scrape the metal tin and said they had no more in the back. Also, at checkout, they didn't recognize that I had punched and clipped in a coupon for the cat litter, so I got it at $8.99 instead of $6.99 each.

Verified Reviewer | Northridge, CaliforniaThis particular store was excellent, but now is falling apart the bakery department is horrible no one wants to help some of the clerks there are very rude when there is someone available.
As I mentioned when I started my complaint your company needs to hire more cashiers if your customers like myself cant use the self checkout, or hire one cashier to monitor all sales at those units Ralphs have one person and the theft there is very minimal. It is ridiculous to wait in line for 30 to 45 minutes because that store have only two cashiers. Very stressful shopping experience!
